Karen has been instrumental in driving and raising awareness of Mental Health throughout the region and has delivered numerous training sessions to both our internal staff and Supply Chain partners. Karen is passionate about making a difference and the feedback from the people involved in the training has been extremely positive and in some instances life changing.

Steve Ridout, Lead Design Manager, Cardiff

Steve has led and developed the carbon commitments for the Cardiff’s sites and offices and is recognised by the team as the go to expert in the area. In the wider business and the South Wales market he also chairs a number of committees including the SEWSCAP and SWWECF frameworks carbon committees.

Tom Mousley, Site Manager, Thames Valley

Tom (pictured, top right) dedicates his time and thinking to sustainability in and out of work, constantly coming up with new ideas on his projects, as well as setting up a charity in his spare time taking waste materials and re-purposing them into furniture for underprivileged people.

Wirral Chamber of Commerce Construction Forum

Chaired by North West managing director Barry Roberts, Morgan Sindall is the founding partner of the Wirral Chamber of Commerce Construction Forum, which is achieving outstanding benefits for local businesses to benefit from the pipeline of work in the local area.

Established by Wirral Chamber of Commerce and its members, The Wirral Chamber Construction Forum was set up in 2016. Its aim is to develop opportunities for local companies and individuals to benefit from local spending on construction projects. With large-scale regeneration developments through Wirral Waters and Wirral Growth Company, It is paramount that local businesses have a forum to learn about various opportunities within the local construction & property sector. The forum is also to ensure that local supply chain is able to access the significant pipeline of investment and development opportunities that exist across the Liverpool City Region (LCR) and indeed the whole of the UK.

Along with Morgan Sindall, the founding partners of the forum include Wirral Chamber of Commerce, Peel Land & Property, the developer behind the multi-million-pound Wirral Waters Enterprise Zone and Wirral Met College.

As a collaborative partnership, the Forum brings local construction businesses and professionals together to bring forward opportunities, build meaningful business contacts, educate businesses and discuss any issues or barriers to growth. The forum is also to educate businesses in the sector, to ensure they have the skills required to form part of a robust supply chain and to encourage a wider reach of opportunities by working with other businesses and partners across Wirral and the LCR.

Norma Odain-Hines, Social Value Manager, Northern Home Counties

Norma has made extensive progress in social value for the Northern Home Counties, notably setting up the first Knowledge Quad in the South East which resulted in us being named Business of the Year by Buckinghamshire Business Group.

Sam Green, Site Manager, Northern Home Counties

Sam has embraced social value at the Glebe Farm School project with enthusiasm. Working with local resident Ben who will attend Glebe Farm School when it opens to pupils in September 2022 and who has been appointed as the site reporter. Sam has encouraged Ben to visit site regularly, carry out interviews and learn about the world of construction. Ben has become an honorary member of the site team and we've received regular feedback from his Mum that the support from Sam has really built his confidence.

Maclay Residences, University of Glasgow

The team on this project embraced the circular economy agenda which has been highlighted by the client at forums where competitors, clients and supply chain have attended. Despite the challenging programme on the project, the circular economy and sustainability outcomes were a business first for the business unit and have set an example for other projects to follow. The site team went above and beyond in their efforts to upcycle and recycle all the fixtures and fittings that were being stripped out from the student accommodation. From mattresses and loose furniture being upcycled for reuse to distribution of electrical goods to various local charities, the team managed to exceed all expectations.
