Introduction
to the panel
Yet at its core, the sector reflects something simple and human: our desire for longer, healthier lives, and access to the promise of modern medicine.
London, Oxford and Cambridge lead the UK’s position in the global life science market. Many other parts of the country are similarly invested and ambitious - and face some of the same challenges in funding, infrastructure, and integration.
To explore how the UK can fully unlock its potential, Morgan Sindall Construction brought together a panel of leaders from across the sector.
On the panel
Laura Citron OBE, Chief Executive of London & Partners. As the growth agency for London, her organisation is focused on inward investment, trade, innovation, small business, support, tourism and events for the city – along with MedCity, London’s specialist Life Sciences cluster.
Sean Bradley, Managing Director for London and the Home Counties, Morgan Sindall Construction. His team has delivered high specification science buildings across the capital for Kadans, Kings College, LS Estates and others.
George Freeman MP, UK Trade Envoy, and a former Minister for Science, who has led national programmes for Life Science, Agritech, Biotechnology, Space, Quantum, and Fusion.
Ellie Junod, an investment manager at UBS Asset Management, who is focused on the firm’s UK and European Life Sciences Fund. It has a development fund with sites in Stevenage, Oxford and Cambridge. In Europe, UBS is progressing its first site in Berlin and rolling out other life science projects across the continent.
