About the three modular schemes

Sweyne Park School | £2m

Creation of a standalone teaching block at The Sweyne Park School in Rayleigh, which provides an extra 150 school places for children of high school age, as well as remodelling some external areas to provide access to the adjacent 57 acre Sweyne Park.

The new teaching block also includes six general teaching rooms and WC and staff rooms, with special provisions and classroom enhancements to support suitable education for hearing impaired pupils and completed in August.

Colne Community School | £4m

Works at Colne Community School & College in Brightlingsea, Colchester is a brand new £4 million two-storey teaching block containing eight general teaching classrooms, two resistant material technology rooms, two food technology rooms, a seminar room and plant room.

Much like the other two buildings, the block will be Net Zero Carbon in operation thanks to its renewable technologies and heating and ventilation design.

Clacton County High | £3.5m

At Clacton County High School in Clacton-on-Sea the £3.5 million expansion project includes the construction of a brand new standalone teaching block, creating 10 general teaching classrooms, plant room, and a four-court sports hall.

The development will increase the school’s offering from 1,695 permanent school places up to 1,800 for years seven-11, whilst the 500 sixth form students will relocate to an alternative site on Jaywick Lane, Clacton. It completed in November.
