One morning off we head for school In the bright warm glowing sun, Liv and me, hand in hand To learn and have some fun.
In assembly that morning The headteacher stood up tall And introduced two builders who Flashed pictures on the wall.
Titled ‘Vision of the Future’ There were drawings of a school - Something quite exciting here: New classrooms, playground, hall!
When asked for any questions There wasn’t any fuss Until Liv and I then whispered, “What does this mean for us?”
“A future full of options - We’re building this for you, To help you with your learning in An amazing brand-new school. Your teachers are fantastic What better place to teach? Exciting, inspired learning,” And then they finished off their speech… “We’d love for all of you To visit while we build, That way we can then show you how Construction is fulfilled. Everything we do here Is linked to what you learn: Reading, maths and science too Are used at every turn.
If you start to look around you, Wherever you may be, From homes to roads and airports too We build everything you see.” In the days and months to come Machines rose large and tall, They were digging up the ground And making room for our new school. We visited the site Dressed up in safety gear, We learnt about the works they do For the whole of their career. But whilst it was exciting Making notes to then discuss The thing we really, really loved Was this was built for us.
One thing the workers taught us is That everything they build Isn’t just a structure but Something more fulfilled.
There’s a focus on the planet And people’s safety too, Enriching people’s lives so that A legacy shines through.
For me and my friend Liv It’s now become quite clear: The builders are excited for Our progress through the years.
We can’t wait to start our learning It’s positive indeed... The future’s in our hands and We’ll do everything to succeed!
