LIVING OUR
VALUES
Construction Central and West
An insight into why our company values matter and how the act as a catalyst for a positive working culture.
We caught up with six colleagues from different departments and locations to ask them some questions about our culture.
As well as describing what makes them love working here, we asked which company values resonate with them, and what piece of advice they'd give a new colleague joining the business. Click on the film opposite to watch.
Our vision, purpose and values have been fundamental in shaping our business culture in construction, and when you see our teams in action on a day-to-day basis, you really do see them demonstrated in actions and behaviours at every level.
Our vision and our purpose are specific to the Construction business, and our values are defined by Morgan Sindall Group and implemented in all group companies. In 2024, the values were updated - you can read more on the CORE by clicking here.
We also have a behavioural framework which helps to showcase what ‘great’ looks like when it comes to demonstrating our values in our work with our stakeholders, colleagues and communities. It is also utilised as a tool in our management and leadership development, 360 reviews and appraisals.

I've been in companies where they sell the dream of how they work, wheras at Morgan Sindall, they've actually lived up to it. All the values, they're written down, but not just for the sake of it, they mean what they say and they are there for you.
Being a decentralised business I feel like your voice is heard a lot more, it cuts that red tape and allows us to make the right decisions for our business locally. I like that we get to make our own decisions, which really does encourage innovation and ideas.
Because of the support that I feel, that is there around me, it gives me the confidence that I can also challenge the status quo myself. Each of those things, you thought you had to do, we can challenge, which means the sky's the limit really.
If we weren't acting responsibly to do the right thing, we wouldn't be working to the best interests of our customer, and without them, we wouldn't have any repeat business and we wouldn't be able to survive!
Talented people and the customer comes first come hand in hand, not one above the other - the reason for this is if we employ the right talented people, they will take care of our customers.
As an organisation, we have a duty of care to support our local communities. I see this in action all the time - when we have community or school events, everyone volunteers to be part of that.
