Reaching even further beyond the boundaries, our teams have supported numerous initiatives, volunteering 312 hours and donating more than £11,000 to charitable causes.
This included partnering with our supply chain to put together £2,000 worth of clothing, toiletry essentials and sleeping bags for St Basils - a local homeless charity.
Three members of the team supported Birmingham St Mary's Hospice and John Taylors Hospice in collecting over 5,500 Christmas Trees from local residents, a campaign that raised a total of £100,000!
Food and clothing donation banks on site have also supported Birmingham City Church's efforts locally.
The team also supported the Nick Mowl Cup two years in a row, helping raise over £4,000 for Kaleidoscope - a local mental health and wellbeing charity.
Fundraising events on site have also supported the Teenage Cancer Trust, Great Ormand Street Hospital and Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.
At Deer's Leap Wood, the team undertook a volunteer project to clear space, plant trees and transfer mulch into this Site of Local Importance for Nature Conservation.
It’s hugely important to engage with the community and ensure we drive social value out of our projects – it’s part of our civic responsibility as a university. What’s been really good on this project is that Morgan Sindall get that and actually quantify it – that’s really important as it takes it beyond just lip service. It starts to become real, people can see that actually, we’re serious about it, and we’re delivering it.
