Meet the team
Key members of the Morgan Sindall team who delivered the project
Ian is a project manager with over 30 years' experience. In his time with Morgan Sindall, he has delivered exemplary projects for customers such as North Manchester General Hospital, Merseyside Police and Liverpool City Council. Ian excels at stakeholder engagement and ensuring our projects meet the individual needs and aspirations of our customers.
Working in a live hospital environment is a complex process and communication is vital - this has been a real positive for us. The team have been very flexible and reactive to any changes and developing requirements on the project. Ian has led the project from start and his consistency and pragmatism have been fantastic. He's been calm and considerate with us throughout the whole process and always willing to support projects that the Trust have been doing.

Mark brings over 20 year’s experience of working for national and regional contractors on a variety of complex commercial, educational, retail and rail projects, ranging in value from £70,000 to 120 million. He is an enthusiastic, trustworthy and punctual engineer and has an eye for detail. Mark is passionate in achieving the highest standard of results.
I want to express our heartfelt gratitude for everything that you have done to make possible the transfer of Gas Water and Electricity services to our premises. I know that working at a Mortuary is not an easy ask. In circumstances such as these where a great degree of consideration and respect for the deceased and their families is required this is a big ask of any firm of contractors, their leadership, management and employees. You have done an outstanding job and I want you to know how enormously grateful we are."

Shawn manages diverse onsite tasks, including logistics, coordination with sub-contractors, quality inspections, and upholding stringent safety standards. Shawn's introduction to Morgan Sindall originated from his initial role as a gateman for a sub-contractor. In 2009, recognising his potential, he was offered a position with Morgan Sindall along with tailored training, marking the commencement of a supported and thriving career journey. Today, Shawn stands as a qualified Engineering Operative, entrusted not only with his core responsibilities but also with the significant role of training and guiding new operatives in their professional development.
Shawn has been absolutely fantastic on the NMGH project in managing logistics in a live hospital site. He's tackled all challenges thrown at him with a smile, both in and outside the site boundary when dealing with staff, patients and the public.
In her role as Social Value Manager, Tricia has developed and managed a Social Value Plan from tender stage to address the key priorities in North Manchester, including worklessness, educational attainment and community wellbeing. The total social value created on this project was £19.04m - verified by Compliance Chain, demonstrating the success of Tricia's approach.
As a Trust, we set specific pledges and requirements for social value at the start of the tender process. Morgan Sindall's commitments in this area was one of key reasons why they were selected. They were serious about what they were going to achieve, centred around the Knowledge Quad facility onsite. This created a bespoke facility for schools, colleges and people seeking employment to come to. I'm delighted to see opportunities created for people like Jackson - an ex offender now in employment.’

James joined Morgan Sindall as a project initiated new position. He is a highly motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor with over 10 years' experience, working for John Sisk prior to Morgan Sindall. His experience has been gained from a variety of projects working in both the private and public sectors. These projects vary from large public sector projects through to high rise residential schemes and flagship city centre developments.
I've really enjoyed working on the North Manchester Hospital project. Prior to this, my experience has been mainly in residential projects, so it's been great to work on a project that will make a huge difference to the local community. I began working for Morgan Sindall during the pandemic, and everyone on the site and client team has made me feel really welcome."

Mitchell studied Construction Management at Salford University whilst Morgan Sindall were onsite delivering the SEE Building project.
As part of our education partnership with the University, we undertook a 150hour programme of activities with students including a multi-disciplinary module challenge. We were impressed by his work on this module and offered him a summer placement which has now led to a permanent position as a Graduate Site Manager based at North Manchester General Hospital.
The support I've received from Morgan Sindall has been fantastic. I've gone from being a student to having a job that I love with all the support I need to progress. Working on the hospital has been a great experience for me to add to my growing portfolio of projects.’
Sarah joined Morgan Sindall in 2021 for her placement year during her Construction Management Degree studies at Leeds Beckett University. The year out programme required Sarah to rotate between different departments and projects to obtain a variety of knowledge and experience. Wishing to retain Sarah after her placement year, Morgan Sindall arranged for her to transfer to a Degree Apprenticeship at Salford University. Sarah was placed on the NMGH project where she worked on day release to complete her studies.
I'm so grateful for the opportunity given to me by Morgan Sindall. I loved my year out and didn't want to go back to University full time. It's amazing that I can now continue to earn as I complete my studies and remain in my new home in Manchester where I've found new friends and independence.’
