**OUR EXPERIENCE IN DELIVERING PRE-SCHOOLS & PRIMARY SCHOOLS**
Creating environments that inspire the next generation is vital.
In fact, numerous studies have shown that carefully and considerately designed environments - be they new build or refurbishments - can dramatically increase student performance.
Reports have shown improved behaviour as well as pride in the place they learn.
If a better education building can have a big impact on achievements, it's so important for all the stakeholders to be at the table early.
Having all the experts together at the earliest possible stage ensures design is fine tuned towards positive impact on student and teaching experiences and performance, as well as centring around the best value and most sustainable solutions.
In the primary education sector we have delivered nurseries, pre-schools and primary schools, both standalone new builds, modular builds, extensions and refurbishments on live campuses.

Delivered for North Lanarkshire Council, the project involved the design and build of a new joint campus comprising 2 primary schools and 2 Early Years facilities.

Wintringham Primary Academy is a striking and unique new school at the heart of a new housing development.
Delivered through the Cambridgeshire County council framework for Urban&Civic, the 630-place primary school uses the influence of its environment to positively stimulate learning.
Using BIM modelling, the cross laminated timber frame was pre-cut in the factory, ready for every service and fixtures, speeding up installation on site.
As well as lifting the building to suit the site topography, excavated soil was re-used in the landscape architecture across the development saving tonnes of carbon. Our carbon calculator tool kept track of emissions showing 371tCO2e on completion.
I could feel it was important to Morgan Sindall to get things right. They have involved us and sought our opinion – communication has been excellent. They have been incredibly accommodating, and we now have a beautiful school which we are very proud of!

Kingsbrook View Primary Academy | £10.9mAylesbury, Buckinghamshire
Kingsbrook View Primary Academy is a free school run by the Inspiring Futures Partnership Trust and set within the new, wildlife-friendly Kingsbrook housing development.
The project comprises a new build, two-form entry primary school for 420 pupils and a 52-place nursery. The building has sustainable credentials such as solar panels on the roof and the building fabric is designed to ensure it is thermally efficient thereby reducing the carbon emissions which will help the Council meet its Carbon reduction targets.
To safeguard the programme and ensure the school was completed for the start of the academic year, the project utilised an ‘off site’ approach. SIPs were used which only required 12 weeks to install, significantly reducing the build programme.
This is a truly wonderful building. The facilities are second to none and will provide a great learning environment for the current and future pupils. I hope the pupils, teachers, staff and local community enjoy the new facilities for many years to come.”

Tirdeunaw is a brand new 525-place Welsh-medium primary with 75 nursery places and flying start.
Delivered through the SWWRCF (South West Wales Regional Contractors Framework) the school was delivered on time and budget.
The project was constructed on the playing fields of an existing high school - to overcome this we formed three separate entrances away from the main school to keep the site completely segregated and worked around academic timetables. The campus now includes a 420 place primary school with a sports hall and a 56 place stand alone nursery, as well as outdoor play areas, pitches and a large surface car park.
We would definitely would recommend Morgan Sindall. You had the right team on here which made life a lot easier for all . Good communications throughout the project and the whole experience was brilliant!"

Cowbridge Primary School | £6.4mCardiff, South Wales
New 210 place, 1FE primary school, adjacent Cowbridge Comprehensive, to form an all-through 3-19 school.
The project will increase English medium primary education provision, to meet demand from local housing development, part funded by S106 contributions. The 1,400m2 development provides classrooms over two storeys, with a main hall for sport/dining, offices, staffroom and breakout space, alongside 48 part-time nursery places. One of our first contractually NZCiO compliant schools, with in-operation energy monitoring, we applied VoGC’s standardised school model to drive best value, and CarboniCa carbon calculator to produce an optimal design. We also saved 50tCO2 during construction.
We donated 30 volunteering hours at Gibby Green Fingers to clear the overgrown community garden and delivered carbon literacy training to local pupils.

Live environment new build
Marlbrook Primary School | £6m Hereford, Herefordshire
Construction of a new 6 classroom extension along with the refurbishment of the existing school.
Procured through the Constructing West Midlands Framework (CWMF), the project has helped increase the school's capacity to accommodate 630 pupils aged 4 to 11. The council-funded sustainable scheme has provided six new classrooms, a new hall and a special hygiene and physio room, and the school also now has new netball courts and better car parking.
Delivered in a live environment, the scheme was programmed around the academic timetable, especially the refurbishment work which was phased. The project consisted of six different sections, and between each, the school were given time and support to decant and move.
This is a real success story during what has been a really difficult time for schools due to the pandemic. Pupils will now benefit from a state-of-the-art learning environment and the very latest facilities to help make sure they get the best possible outcomes.

Stoneham Park Academy | £5.6m Eastleigh, Hampshire
Construction of a new 2FE timber-framed primary school.
Procured through the Southern Construction Framework for Hampshire County Council, this sustainable fabric-first build creates 315 new pupil places.
It was the pilot project for the council's model school. Conceived as a lean, compact and energy efficient two-storey form the building is modest in scale and future-proofed for expansion.
The Hampshire model can be scaled ranging from 1.5 form entry to three form entry and due to its compact form and footprint.
The compact design is based on 'fabric first' principles combined with an MVHR system to improve thermal comfort, Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) and dramatically reduce energy consumption.
We should collectively feel very proud of what has been achieved in delivering Stoneham Park Primary School. It’s a fantastic setting that has created a positive backdrop for children to enjoy for many years to come.

The Pines Primary School | £5.4mRed Lodge, Suffolk
Delivered on time, in budget and scoring 10/10 for customer satisfaction, the Pines has created an inspiring new education hub for the village.
The 52-week build included the design and construction of a 210-place primary school and standalone nursery. It forms part of an overall masterplan to eventually become a 420-place primary.
Throughout the build the team engaged with neighbouring schools, using the project as a learning experience for pupils. In order to celebrate a fantastic project, stakeholders gathered for an all-inclusive handover. This consisted of a ribbon cutting with a famous local author, tree planting, stone decorating and a special magic and balloon show for the children at the opening.
The standard of finish has blown me away. The team's attention to detail and vision I find astounding. We are going to create such a fantastic learning environment here because of the building. We have such fantastic spaces and the children enjoy learning here.

Highfield Spencer Academy | £5.3mDerby
Highfields Spencer Academy involved the design and construction of a new primary school in just 40 weeks.
Designed by Lungfish Architects and using modular construction techniques, the school now serves a brand new housing community in Derbyshire and was delivered on time, in budget, through the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring pupils were able to move in ready for the new school term.
In order to help the community and school feel a part of the build, drone tours were set up throughout the project so that stakeholders could keep in touch with the project remotely.
The team also held an event at the local job centre and as a result helped eight people secure employment.
Highfields is a magic place already, the building is beautiful. The education design is so well considered and the space lends itself to be such a positive space. It had a great team and they did everything possible to make sure I was involved. We're so proud of it here.

Hackwood Primary Academy | £5m Derby, Derbyshire
Funded through a Section 106 agreement, Hackwood Primary School provides a beautifully designed, colourful and spacious learning environment for local children.
It has also been designed for future growth, with innovative expandable units able to accommodate up to 315 pupils.
The project progressed from planning to handover in less than a year thanks to the efficiency afforded by innovative modular construction methods, and effective collaboration between all the stakeholders. To date, the project has been the most high-profile modular build delivered through the SCAPE framework. So much so, the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) held a seminar on modular construction at the site.
The team were great, very professional and always found solutions. It was definitely good collaborative working. I was dubious about the modular solution, but the finish is as good as any school I’ve ever been to.
