The fire station side incorporates office and meeting room provision with sleeping quarters, gymnasium, kitchen, changing and lounge facilities for station based fire firefighters. The training facility incorporates offices for training staff, three training rooms and changing.

Kings Lynn Police Station | £4.5mKings Lynn, Norfolk
The extension and refurbishment of a live police station for Norfolk Constabulary.
This project included the demolition of an existing two storey wing, construction of two storey temporary accommodation, construction of a two storey extension and refurbishment of the existing building and cell blocks.
Delivered across three phases of works, so that the station could remain operational throughout the scheme, the team worked around key investigations and constabulary operations so that blue light access and security remained throughout.
The team partnered with West Suffolk College to enable student visits and learning from the scheme.
The works have given the building a new lease of life on the inside while its historic exterior has been maintained for years to come. This modernisation has enabled the police force to provide an enhanced service to the community, while also delivering greater cost efficiencies.”

Live Fire Training Facility | £3.9mEastleigh, Hampshire
The construction of a new live fire training building for Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service.
Following the demolition of the old training facility, the team constructed a live fire training building from pre-cast concrete. The building is a Live Carbonaceous Fire Training Facility and crucially forms a key part of Fire Fighters Training in Hampshire and the surrounding areas.
The three storey building is is the first of its kind in the UK and has a special heat protection strategy as it is designed to present firefighters with the experience of tackling fires in a controlled situation. The team has designed Wall, Floor and Ceiling protection to burn areas which will ensure the structure stays below the Eurocode requirement of 60 degrees.

Stowmarket Fire & Police Station | £3.3mStowmarket, Suffolk
The construction of a new blue-light hub for Suffolk involves a new two storey building in Stowmarket that will house fire and police services.
This includes new offices, changing, locker and storage rooms for the police; and storage bays, kit room, office and welfare space for the fire service.
There is also a lecture theatre that can house 50 people, a 50 space car park which caters for ambulance, police, fire and visitor parking.
The brownfield sit, located to the south east of Stowmarket was previously a the site of a residential property which was demolished to make room for the hub.
This collaboration saves the public purse the cost of running multiple buildings and improves the joint working of these two key blue-light services, which makes perfect sense.”

Bishops Waltham Fire Station | £3mHampshire
The first on-call fire station to be constructed for Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service in over 40 years.
Following the demolition of the existing station, the team created a brand-new facility which provides a more dynamic training environment which is resilient to flooding (a key consideration for the local area).
The 250m2 building comprises an appliance bay, offices, and external tower and roof training rig, training areas, a mess hall and changing and breathing apparatus cleaning facilities. The station also includes a dedicated community engagement area accessible to local groups.
During the build, renewables such as solar panels and air source heat pumps were installed to reduce its carbon impact.
We worked closely with Morgan Sindall Construction to ensure the new build met our estate design principles, and it’s exciting we are now able to officially open the station and look back on all the work that led us to this point.

Inverness Fire Station (Phase 2), Inverness | £1.85mScottish Fire & Rescue Service
Morgan Sindall was recently appointed to refurbish the dignified facilities at Inverness Fire Station after successfully delivering its emergency services facilities in.
The new design – believed to be the first of its kind to be carried out on behalf of Scottish Fire and Rescue – featured designated cleaning and decontamination zones for firefighters to fully remove harmful fire contaminants before entering a ‘clean’ zone. Additional facilities included changing rooms, shower and wash areas, and PPE/clothing storage spaces. Keen to minimise disruption to the fire station, the work was sequenced with the crew deployed periodically. Modular temporary facilities were also installed to ensure the station remained fully operational while works took place.
