Inspection Process and Compliance
ITPs required for the project shall be identified and a schedule developed, incorporating an implementation programme.
An ITP shall be produced to cover each permanent works activity (irrespective of its size or complexity). ITPs will define inspection and test activities, persons responsible for carrying out inspection and testing, intervention points and the verification records that demonstrate compliance for each work activity determined by level of risk.
The project manager shall be responsible for ensuring the production of ITPs. The project team will check and monitor each aspect of the works throughout its progress to ensure compliance with the ITP.
On satisfactory completion of an element of works against the ITP as required by the project quality standards, the team will collate records related to it in the site files and submit the relevant handover certificate for customer approval and acceptance.
External audits – third party external audits may be carried out in accordance with contract conditions, or by independent certification bodies (e.g. BSI, Lloyds, and Achilles etc.) It is the project managers responsibility to close out any recommendations and record audit findings in the appropriate location within Audit SharePoint
Internal audits and inspections – monitoring of the project by internal audits and inspections will be carried out in line with an audit schedule and in line with business unit/region and company requirements,AUD STD 01 Audit Assessment and SHEQ Inspection Standard
Supply chain audits – audits of our key suppliers will be undertaken by the project team or business unit internal auditors as and when required.
Project review – project review will be held monthly, and all required actions will be recorded in Site Information Management System (SIMS)
Ensure that where works are deemed safety critical (refer to the definition of safety critical), manufacturers inspect the works in accordance with the ITP and all manufacturers and or other third party specialists inspections are recorded.
Monitor and execute ITPs according to programme
ITP records to be maintained and recorded in SIMS
Manage project quality risk throughout execution of the works, completing inspection as per inspection check-sheets
Record and monitor defects and determine root cause in SIMS
Risk Management Review RM3 Operational Audits to be undertaken at a project level
Undertake monthly quality audits and record the results in SIMS
The project manager will be responsible for managing the lessons learnt process in accordance with Q STD 04 Lessons Learnt Standard and for maintaining a programme of lessons learnt reviews, lessons learnt should be recorded on a monthly basis in the project review in Site Information Management System (SIMS)
