Unpacking the formula
Our MySchool system has been the result of 12 years of development, investment and expertise in delivering automated design and repeatable standardised solutions.
Our MySchool system will give you an accurate cost and timeline for production – plus we’ll get on site 25% quicker than a traditional design process.
The MySchool system has been designed to meet DfE framework requirements, so you can be sure your school meets the standard.
Standardised components arranged just so every school is unique, and so are our school buildings. The MySchool system gives the flexibility to deliver traditional, panelised and volumetric methods of construction.
Our schools are designed with a lifetime of 65 years whilst also reducing maintenance and running costs.
Every single project we embark on has Perfect Delivery at its heart: a safe, on time, quality and exceptional experience, that you’d be happy to recommend to others.
The MySchool system gives you the flexibility to choose between traditional, volumetric and panelised structural solutions – whatever works best for your school.
In fact, a standard MySchool building’s PMV (pre-manufactured value) is up to 84%.
This includes: teaching spaces, WCs, stair cores, corridors and workshops.
This includes: stores, changing suites, activity studios, assembly halls, sports halls, dining rooms, kitchens, plant rooms and more – all scalable to suit the number of students at the school.
These are offsite premanufactured offering ease of installation.
Choose your external finishes from a wide selection of cladding, render, brickwork or slip, and windows and doors to really personalise your school.
By automating the design process, we can provide a manufacturing design brief, cost plan, and outline of the components required quickly and easily, typically saving nine weeks on a standard preconstruction programme. And the time savings don’t end there – a MySchool build that utilises modern methods of construction will generally take around 39.5% less time than a full traditional build.
Using MySchool enables us to reduce the average number of people on site from 65 to 38. The number of deliveries to site daily is more than halved, and the space required for site accommodation goes from 1,600 square metres to 1,200 square metres.
Using MySchool doesn’t just save time over the life of the school, but running costs will also be substantially reduced. An energy saving of over £3,000 per year and more than £18,000 per year on maintenance costs, can be achieved on a standard six-form-entry secondary school.
The projects where we regularly actively engage with the local community from the outset, are the projects everyone wants to work on.
From primary school talks, to hosting secondary school work experience weeks, return to work training courses, and on-the-job training, our teams are invested in the future of construction.
The environmental benefits of using our MySchool system are impressive. We actively work with our supply chain to minimise the carbon footprint, and the offsite manufacturing process produces zero waste. We record everything we do in our Social Value Bank – this gives us a monetised figure that shows what has been reinvested in the community as a result of the project.
We measure embodied carbon through the design process to reduce harm to the planet and we work with you to ensure that operational carbon is reduced, saving maintenance costs for the life of the asset. We are proactive in selecting local supply chain partners, helping the local economy to thrive and protect employment.
